Why we charge GRT:
We, like everyone in New
Mexico, are required to collect and pay gross
receipts tax on certain transactions - which include renting you vending space
in the Core Market, Food Court,
Mothership Tent and Tailgate sections.In the instance of the Core Market and Mother Ship and Food Court our
daily fee is the base on which the added 6.5% Santa Fe County GRT is
collected.In the tailgate space, to
avoid making change the $15 includes the 6.5% GRT . ($14.02 rent, .98 GRT)
CountyLicenses and Permits:
To vend in the Core Market, Food Court or Mother Ship, you must have
a CRS Number and a Santa FeCounty special Itinerant
Vendors Permit.
Santa FeCounty has provided us a
special arrangement whereby you can obtain the monthly Itinerant Vendors Permit
specific to this market, for $10 per month. We will collect the fee and issue
the Permit. (Standard Itinerant Vendor Permits in Santa FeCounty
cost considerably more than this arrangement.)County Itinerant Vendor permission for Tailgates is included in their
$15 daily fee.
Gross Receipts Tax and Your Obligation
You must have a New Mexico CRS number - which is the id to
pay your Gross Receipts Tax to the State as a Seasonal Vendor.We can assist you in obtaining your CRS
number if you wish.
It is your individual responsibility to appropriately
collect, file and pay Gross Reciepts Tax on those things you sell. Under New
Mexico State Law, The Flea at the Downs
management has no responsibility to monitor your GRT.
Insurances:
The Flea at the Downs
maintains substantial liability insurance for the event.We do not require individual vendors to
maintain individual liability insurance - however we do recommend that it is
good business practice to do so. Individual liability insurance can be obtained
through our insurance source in conjunction with our own policy at extremely
favorable rates.Contact us if you wish
to participate in this program.
The contents of your space must be insured by you.
Each Vendor will indemnify and hold the Flea at
the Downs LLC and its personnel harmless from any loss, cost or expense of any
sort or nature, including reasonable attorney fees and costs, and will
indemnify and hold the Flea at the Downs LLC and its personnel harmless for any
liability to any person on account of any damage to persons or property
resulting or occurring by reason of the use and occupancy of a space by a
vendor, or for the failure of a vendor to comply in any respect with or to
perform any of the requirements and previsions of the rules and
regulations.
